At the back side of my house there is a small wall which divides my place from the next one. On the wall there is a fence of straw. Well, one day, two or three years ago, a cat appeared outside of the fence. I put on the wall some food. The night she was there too. She was so pretty with long hair, black and white and so quiet. Till then I was feeding here every day, she was waiting for me and she was able to recognise the noise of the door and where ever she was, she came running. One day an old lady told me that she was the owner, the cat was about fourteen years old and she did not want to live with the their cats of the house.
Her name was Kassandra.
The time went by, Kassandra was there, absolutely happy, for the winter she had a small house, for the summer she had trees to lay under in the shadow. Suddenly, I realize that she had small and many tumours on the belly, but she was eating and nothing seemed to bother her.
One morning, last winter, I went out to feed her, but she was not there. At noon, coming back from my office, she still was missing. I went at the back side of the next building and I found her sitting on a stair, not moving. I took her to her owner, the old lady, in order for her to be examined by a vet. The result was: Kassandra had a terrible problem in her ear, which is why she was walking a little bit awry, (the vet fixed it), the tumours on her belly were a little bigger, (no pain, no problem at all) but most important was that the old lady did not want her back in the house and said to the vet to put her to sleep. The vet refused and Kassandra came to my home, in a room where there were three to four cats. She was so adorable, she was a little bit aggressive to my cats, but nothing serious, she was eating, seemed to be O.K. She liked to sit by the window, watching people, getting sunshine or fresh air. She liked me so much to caress her belly and she liked me so much to hold her in my arms – for some months. Then one day she had a very serious stomach crisis, I stopped it with homoeopathic medicines, but…she did not eat after that. I was trying for a week to feed her all the food I knew she liked but nothing. She became very quiet and I decided to give her the peace.
Every time I remember her, my eyes are full of tears. I know that I gave her all the love in the world, but….gone.
Don’t you agree that she was a beauty?
